Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I'm hoping to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I'm totally overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Steve, I've been listening to your podcast as well as those of others in aviation for the past few months, as I've let myself be bitten by the aviation bug again. I had been in EAA several years ago, and let it expire, and quit going to the airport, when I had a job transfer, no time, and no money, and later loss of my job. Back to work now, listening to podcasts on my commute (better than political talk radio, for sure!), I've now caught up with all the episodes of airspeed, and decided to go back and comment on this one.

Being former Navy (unfortunately, I was not an aviator, but a submariner), I appreciate the level of respect that you have for our Miliatary. I thank you for that, and I especially like the level of respect that you paid this episode. Thanks. And thank you for sharing these experiences with those of us in the podsphere, even those listening years after the episodes were recorded.

Steve, I've only just discovered the Podosphere and i'm hooked. I've just flown 2 hours solid IFR RNAVs, Holds, Sector entries, and ILS's in real IMC as preparation for my single pilot IFR check ride in 2 days. On the way back from the airport I listened to the Thunderbirds media flight and the answer to why i'm putting myself through this mental and financial torment came to me through the depth of your description and breadth of emotions contained in the podcast. Deep down inside as a pilot we want to as sharp, focussed and smooth as a thunderbird. Thank-you for the inspiration. Smoke on - T Bird is Go.

Outstanding. By all rights every GA pilot on the face of the planet ought to be sick with envy, but you captured and shared it so well I can only sit and grin for you!
